Janet & Ann
Janet & Ann met in a yoga class over a decade ago and were married on the day the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the Obergefell v. Hodges case.
Jane, a native New Yorker, headed south and settled in St. Simons Island, Georgia before relocating to Connestee Falls in Brevard seven years ago. Professionally, Jane worked as a photographer and taught art in St. Simons and the surrounding communities for pre-kindergartners through college graduate students for 40 years!
Interested in all things creative, Jane plays the guitar and ukulele where she presently participates in four different musical groups at Connestee! She is a member of the 72 person Connestee Choral group and her love of song and dance has landed her parts in many of their choral and theatrical productions.
Jane also relishes being active as she enjoys kayaking, golfing and venturing out for a nice hike!
“Back in the day”, Jane was part of the peanut gallery on the Howdy Doody Show! This opportunity laid the ground work for all her musical, theatrical and artistic interests!
Introduced to Legacy by friends, Jane was very impressed with the unique equity model of home ownership.
Despite her present day active lifestyle, Jane recognizes that, as one ages, the need for continuing care is an important component to maintaining quality of life. The diversity of Legacy’s continuing care facilities/services gave Jane the comfort in knowing that her quality of life will be well supported.
She also places a high value on the beauty of nature and revels in being wrapped in the stunning landscape that defines the 112 acres of Legacy at Mills River.
After hearing the full presentation, learning of the numerous amenities and the promotion of the active lifestyle available at the Legacy community, that combination “sealed the deal” for her decision to make Legacy her future home!
Jane would like to be instrumental in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere to encourage this newly forming community to commune with common interests, especially in areas like, music, art, theater, philosophy and spirituality.

While Barbara and Paul have enjoyed living in downtown Charleston, SC, they will not miss the growing threat of hurricanes, tidal flooding and the various impacts of climate change when they move to Legacy.
