Legacy developers share many things in common, including calling NC home where they have raised their families, but also operated their respective businesses with decades of success.

Rick Grant, of Beverly-Grant delivers high-quality construction services in Western North Carolina, and David Ammons, of Retirement Living Associates owns and manages senior living communities throughout the Southeast.

When their paths crossed, they realized their combined expertise could bring something truly unique to North Carolina and senior living. And Legacy was born. Modern senior living that offers the value of home ownership, while creating communities for purposeful living and delivering quality continuing care.

The Team

After a personal journey assisting her in-laws move into a CCRC, Elizabeth shifted her career focus into Senior Living. As the Director of Sales and Marketing, she takes an educational approach, combining her marketing expertise and personal experience with her love for Western North Carolina to help families navigate this important life decision.
Lisa takes great pride in being able to walk families through the process of change by helping them discover a second retirement. She can't really call this a job because it is her passion. After all these years its exciting for her to be a part of a community that shares the philosophy she has dreamed of for senor living communities.

Have Questions? We Have Answers.

No.  Legacy is in pre-sales or a “reservation phase”.  Once we meet the NC state-required threshold, we can begin construction.  With approval from the state, we will build the entire community, including all infrastructure and homes in Phase 1, and lifestyle amenities including the healthcare center.

To be a member, you or your spouse must be at least 55 years of age, possess income and resources sufficient to purchase your home and pay monthly fees, and be capable of independent living at your time of purchase.

Each member pays a monthly fee based on their residence type.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s included: home and building maintenance, water and sewer, utilities, Wi-Fi and cable, phone, landscape maintenance, Health Center discount and 30 days at no charge, building insurance, security, club activities including fitness center, trash and garbage pickup, weekly linen service, scheduled transportation, and bi-weekly housekeeping. Estate and Village Home residents are responsible for electricity and gas. All residents are responsible for their taxes and personal property insurance.

Your pet is welcome within established guidelines.

Retirement Living Associates will manage the day-to-day operation of Legacy.

Yes.  We are accepting fully-refundable Reservation Deposits to lock in your home location and price.  Once construction begins, another deposit is required.  Since every member of Legacy purchases their residence, you will pay the remaining amount due on your home at closing, securing the economic benefits of home ownership.

Legacy members are welcome to have their own cars and there is select covered parking available, depending on home location. Legacy will provide transportation to doctor appointments, shopping, social events and more.

Once Legacy is fully built, it will be owned by its members. The community, including The Health Center, is operated on a not-for-profit basis.

Legacy will be licensed to provide Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing.  All of these services will be available when Legacy opens in a stand-alone, state-of-the-art Health Center.

Each member of Legacy is entitled to up to 30 days of healthcare* as part of their membership, plus the cost of two additional meals per day.  After 30 days, the member rate for a stay in the Health Center is significantly less than what comparable facilities charge.  Legacy offers an optional healthcare contract to limit your healthcare expenses if needed.  *some restrictions apply.

Many people wish they had moved to a retirement community sooner. Waiting until a health issue arises means you might miss out on the lifestyle a community like Legacy provides.
