ABOUT
Bob Bencze and Maralyn Flint will be right at home helping design their new Legacy home as they currently live just north of downtown Asheville in a home they designed. Bob was a family physician for 30 years and Maralyn had a bookkeeping and office management consulting firm when they lived in Hamilton VA/Loudoun County. In 2007 they pulled up stakes and moved to New Zealand. They found Asheville in 2011 and have never looked back.
HOBBIES
Bob and Maralyn hike several times a week regardless of the weather. They will be happy to share favorite trails with new Legacy neighbors. While they enjoy travel, when they are home they enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends. Maralyn’s hobbies include reading, knitting, and playing mahjong. Bob is a keyboardist and singer with several bands and especially enjoys engineering music recordings in his home studio. Making travel videos of their adventures, studying jazz piano and Spanish plus reading novels keeps him busy.
SURPRISED TO KNOW
When Bob and Maralyn lived in New Zealand they sought a path to dual citizenship. After surviving the fatal Christchurch earthquake in February 2011, they decided to return to the U.S.
WHY LEGACY?
Being long-term planners and realizing that their “Last Chapter(s)” planning was incomplete made Legacy and its time line a good choice. As they are in their late 60’s, Bob and Maralyn like the option of graduated medical care that Legacy will offer. And until they might need it, they can continue to enjoy all that beautiful western NC has to offer – art and cultural opportunities as well as the many outdoor activities right at their doorstep.
FUTURE AT LEGACY
Bob and Maralyn look forward to meeting new friends who share their love of international travel, their creative interests and their desire to continue to be informed world citizens.
