ABOUT

Bill and Kathe came to western NC from Atlanta where Bill worked for SunTrust for almost 40 years, and Kathe stayed busy raising their two children and doing volunteer work. They had a vacation home in Cashiers, NC, for many years before deciding to make Cashiers their first retirement home. Legacy is their next retirement home choice.

HOBBIES

Both Bill and Kathe are involved with several community activities. They are members of The Country Club of Sapphire Valley and Cedar Creek Club, enjoying golf and pickle ball.  They also enjoy getting together with friends for food, drink and anything that sounds like fun.

SURPRISED TO KNOW

Bill and Kathe knew they’d found “their person” 47 years ago and were married within 6 months!

WHY LEGACY?

Bill’s parents had a wonderful experience making new friends at a CCRC in Wilmington, DE, and moved into it while both were healthy and active. When it was time to avail themselves of health services, it was an easy transition. Bill and his siblings felt blessed that their parents were so well cared for.  Bill and Kathe are looking forward to having the same kind of security at Legacy for themselves and their children. In addition, the Legacy independent living options and equity model were attractive.

FUTURE AT LEGACY

The Canbys are looking forward to meeting their neighbors and making new friends in the Legacy community.
