ABOUT

Connie and Al Byrne met in Rochester NY where they raised their family. Their sojourn south first brought them to Lake Norman in Mooresville, NC. Upon retirement, they moved to Connestee Falls in Brevard where they have resided for the past 16 years. Prior to retirement, Al was an IT Manager with the City of Charlotte and Connie a Program Manager with Wachovia Bank. After retiring, Al started a boat repair business which he recently closed, but continues to use his expertise overseeing boat sales and repairs for the Connestee Fishing Club. Connie has served as Executive Director of the Free Medical Clinic of Transylvania County where she managed the launch of a pharmacy program for those in need. Currently, she is a Board member and volunteer at Sharing House, a local food pantry and crisis assistance organization. In addition, she works as a Design Consultant for clients of a local home builder.

HOBBIES

In the Connestee community, Connie is a member of the chorale and 3 different instrumental groups where she enjoys playing her ukulele, mountain dulcimer, and the washboard! Al’s pastimes are fishing and riding his motorcycle. Al is both Webmaster and Secretary of the Fishing Club where he coordinates and supports the club’s many activities and events.

SURPRISED TO KNOW

One of Al’s claims to fame is that before he was old enough to drive, he owned a 1940 Packard! As for Connie, one of her varied entries on her resume includes being a reflexologist!

WHY LEGACY?

A major attraction to Legacy is the many similarities to Connestee Falls…the preservation of the natural surroundings, the hiking trails, and the numerous well designed indoor and outdoor amenities. Other major benefits of the Legacy equity model include enabling them to continue to preserve and grow their assets and have the opportunity to customize the interior of their new home. Finally, Connie and Al also look forward to developing new friendships with their Legacy neighbors.

FUTURE AT LEGACY

Connie hopes to share her many musical talents/interests with the Legacy community. Al looks forward to expanding his newly launched business as a FAA Certified Drone Pilot and, on a nice day, you might just catch him by the lakeside taking a few casts while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow fishers!
