ABOUT
Formerly from the Chicago area, Martha now calls home at Connestee Falls in the beautiful hills of Brevard. Martha’s career was firmly in education as an elementary school teacher and, during the time she was raising her son, she also worked as a substitute teacher. Later, she took a position as an office administrator at her church.
HOBBIES
As an instrumental musician Martha plays the fiddle and the mandolin. Her most recent quest is taking cello lessons! She also has a beloved Labrador mix who she devotes her time to loving, caring and playing with sweet Rosie. Martha looks forward to making many wonderful new friends who embrace their love of their 4 legged companion… and there will be many at Legacy!
SURPRISED TO KNOW
Martha has made 12 trips to Thailand where she worked in the country’s rural mountains. Her duties included, but were not limited to, teaching English, assisting in medical clinics and transportation and working with the local churches.
WHY LEGACY?
Martha has blessed her son with forward thinking and important decision making. She is committed to having a sound plan both relative to her living arrangements as well as her healthcare. In her view, Legacy provides not only housing with a home-ownership benefit, a definite advantage in Martha’s eyes, and brand new construction with the perk of personal customization. The on-site Care Unit ensures her security relative to her health care needs as time marches on!
FUTURE AT LEGACY
Martha looks forward to being open to whatever opportunities are presented where she can serve and be involved in the Legacy community life. Guessing the large and varied music interests of many of the Founding Guild members will enthusiastically include Martha and her varied instrumental talents in the plethora of musical opportunities yet to be realized! And with her love of Rosie, friends will be made on walks and in the future Dog Park.
