Deb and Rob Sands will be moving to Legacy from Melbourne, FL where they’ve lived the past 26 years.

Deb grew up in Kansas, attended the University of Kansas, and has lived in Kansas City, MO and the Florida Keys. She was a self-employed interior designer.

Rob grew up in NJ, attended Clemson and holds a graduate degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. He lived in Cocoa Beach before his move to Melbourne. Rob was an environmental, health and safety professional.

Deb and Rob have shared interests in travel and golf. Deb enjoys volunteering, book clubs, and watercolor painting. Rob likes to spend time playing music, reading, watching sports and bird watching.

Deb and Rob were married in 2000 at the ages of 49 & 50, on the fuel dock at Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda, BVI.

The Sands have found in Legacy the kind of CCRC they were looking for. A place where they can have an active lifestyle with an interesting group of residents, access to convenient health care and no home maintenance! The proximity to artistic and cultural nearby communities in addition to many natural surroundings helped confirm their decision to become Founding Guild members.

Deb and Rob are thinking about what their new life will be like at Legacy and are looking forward to what the future will bring.

Janet & Ann

Janet & Ann met in a yoga class over a decade ago and were married on the day the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the Obergefell v. Hodges case.

Barbara and Paul

While Barbara and Paul have enjoyed living in downtown Charleston, SC, they will not miss the growing threat of hurricanes, tidal flooding and the various impacts of climate change when they move to Legacy.
