ABOUT
Former long time residents of Cape Coral, FL, upon retirement, Mil and Paul elected to relocate to beautiful Western North Carolina settling in Hayesville in 2019. Donning two very different hats, Paul’s first career was as a High School Band Director. When they relocated to Florida, he became a contracts manager for a large real estate group. Mil, too, diversified her career path… first as an Early Childhood Educator… then in Florida, she adapted her skill set as an Activities Director for a Life Care Community! So, between them four very different lines of work to make for very interesting conversation and sharing!
HOBBIES
Both Paul and Mil love working in the yard and specifically gardening…think there may be a community garden plot or two with their name on it! Paul also is a lover of culinary arts…so he may be very much looking forward to breaking in the brand new kitchen in the couple’s future Legacy home! Mil has been a volunteer at the non-profit community based organization, Historic Hayesville, which is committed to restoring, revitalizing and beautifying downtown Hayesville.
SURPRISED TO KNOW
One more hobby of Mil’s has been to enter sweepstakes…and WINNING many of them!! Participating in this sideline since 1989, when friends ask “Have you won anything lately?” … they are surprised at her affirmative answer! And the best part of it all is that, through this profitable pastime, Mil and Paul have made lifelong friends!!
WHY LEGACY?
Mil, having served in a Life Care Community for 27 years, gave them both a clear perspective as to the type of community and important aspects that would be the focus for their own retirement when the time came. Well, it has come and Legacy seemed to check all the boxes!
FUTURE AT LEGACY
The equity model was intriguing and discovered to be the best investment option in the retirement years. Coupled with the benefits offered to the Founding Guild members, the decision was relatively a seamless one for Paul and Mil…Legacy would be their future home.
