ABOUT

George, raised in New Jersey, had a career in outside sales within hospitals throughout the metro Atlanta area. Jane worked in Atlanta as an administrative assistant/office manager in a commercial real estate consulting and appraisal firm. A New Year’s party in New Jersey in 1966 with George’s old friends will forever be immortalized as the day Jane and George met…and, as they say, the rest is history! In 1971, the Silvers relocated from New York to Atlanta. Then, when George retired 14 years ago, they made the big move to Western North Carolina and settled in Connestee Falls in Brevard where they presently reside.

HOBBIES

Both George and Jane are avid card players…specifically pinochle, poker, Samba and hand & foot canasta! They are also great fans of live theater, and love many types of music, especially blue grass and jazz…and enjoy listening to recorded books. Jane is looking forward to water exercise classes and hopefully Silver Sneakers type classes. Recovering from a knee replacement, George hopes to return to hiking and pickle ball once fully healed. Finally, though COVID has put a stop to their travel plans in this past year, they have voyaged extensively to far off lands and plan on resuming exploring additional distant shores in the future…Ireland is next on their wish list!

SURPRISED TO KNOW

Jane was born and raised in Venezuela of Danish parents who emigrated there from Denmark. Also, the Silvers own a CanAm motorcycle and both enjoy 75-150 mile rides through the stunning Western North Carolina Mountains…and have no plans to curb the endless adventures!

WHY LEGACY?

The handsome design of the main building that they will live in, as well as the layout and design of the Legacy community as a whole, was particularly appealing to George and Jane. That, coupled with the ideal location, the wide variety of amenities and exceptional CCRC offerings made this important transitional decision one to incorporate into their future plans. They also look forward to socializing and joining in the numerous activities that Legacy is offering. They acknowledge that all the new residents will be enjoying in making new friends and are excited to share this new adventure together!

FUTURE AT LEGACY

George and Jane believe that their lifetime of experiences blended with those of the incredibly interesting and diverse future residents of Legacy will provide a fantastic opportunity to share, learn and cherish their new home and create a new circle of friends/neighbors!
