Anne and Steve both spent the majority of their professional careers in education. Anne was Dean of the College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University for 30 years before her retirement. Steve taught high school theology for 25 years in Ft. Lauderdale FL. In 2011 they moved from Boca Raton FL to High Vista in Mills River! They won’t have far to move this next time!
Music and volunteering are activities both of them enjoy. In addition, Anne likes to garden and play games. Steve can be found listening to audiobooks.
SURPRISED TO KNOW
Steve’s volunteering interests have been to work with underserved communities. Anne never cooked a meal until after retiring, when Steve became legally blind.
The commitment of the team behind Legacy to build a special and unique retirement community that includes the equity model, LEED certification, and life-care options all impressed Anne and Steve. They look forward to beginning this new journey with new friends.
FUTURE AT LEGACY
With her extensive nursing background and expertise, Anne looks forward to participating in the development of the healthcare facility in whatever ways she can. Both Anne and Steve are enthusiastic about the opportunities there will be at Legacy to build new friendships.
Legacy at Mills River will be a sustainably-designed Continuing Care Retirement Community, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering equity ownership. Residents hold the deed to their own property: a stunning home designed for 21st Century convenience and following LEED principles for eco-friendly construction.
