Deborah presently lives on Daufuskie Island, SC where she has resided for the past 17 years. Prior to that, she and her family lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Preceding retirement, Deborah served as the CEO of a medical information company providing databases to medical libraries worldwide. This New York City based company began as a start up with 25 employees and, 10 years later, employed 475 in 5 international offices prior to her departure! Deborah commuted to NYC during the week and returned to Philly area in the weekends during that time…a true cosmopolitan gal!
An able bodied and active soul, Deborah enjoys tennis, yoga, walking and pickle ball…all of which she looks forward to participating in once a resident at Legacy! She also loves all forms of dance and is hopeful that Legacy will incorporate a variety of dance programs into their curriculum. Beyond her physical activities, she also has a passion for learning, “exercising her mind” and contributing her developed leadership skills. She has been on the board of several non-profits and educational institutions. A lifelong Quaker, she presently serves the American Friends Service Committee, an international Quaker organization, following her grandfather’s lead. She also serves on her Community Board on Daufuskie Island.
