ABOUT

Anne was born and raised in Connecticut and Kent in the northern suburbs of New York City. They spent thirty years of their married life in Vermont.  Kent was a public school teacher and administrator. Anne also served as a special education teacher balanced with motherhood and numerous social and community volunteer organizations.  With her gift of writing… and good listening, she was always the elected secretary. Then, upon retirement, they chose to make a big change and moved to Bend, Oregon where they lived for 15 years. They recently decided to migrate back east to be closer to family and took up residence in Biltmore Lake, Candler, NC.  This will serve as their “transition home” until that big day when they move into their Legacy residence. With a daughter and family in Charleston, SC and a son and his wife in the west, they are hopeful that the whole family will ultimately all reside in the eastern states.

HOBBIES

Anne is a voracious reader of …“almost anything”… she says, and loves to knit.  She classifies the knitting craft as her “meditation and grounding”!  Kent is sure to befriend Bill Burchill and others, as he is an avid cyclist… his “meditation and grounding”… a must as he works daily to co-exist with multiple myeloma.

SURPRISED TO KNOW

Kent has accomplished an East to West USA cycling adventure… AND also one from North to South.   Ann, surprisingly, has knitted over 30 pair of socks from yarns purchased from the LYS (local yarn shop) in each new place they visit.  Good, warm memories!

WHY LEGACY?

Their choice for Legacy as their next home is multi-faceted. The unrivaled location, the attractive design elements and its commitment to the best practices and support for seniors are among the major attractions to this couple.  They are also very impressed with the loyalty and tenaciousness of the investors.

FUTURE AT LEGACY

A self-professed introvert, Anne will be interested in finding wonderful little niches for her cherished alone time. Kent looks forward to discovering his fellow cycling folks and exploring the beautiful surrounding areas!  They also anticipate their daily walks in and around the beauty of the Legacy site as being a highlight and life sustainer.

Barbara and Paul

While Barbara and Paul have enjoyed living in downtown Charleston, SC, they will not miss the growing threat of hurricanes, tidal flooding and the various impacts of climate change when they move to Legacy.
